Decreased Cerebral Blood Flow and Orthostasis in CFS
This project will explore the hypothesis that the etiology of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) in a subgroup of patients may be due to reduced mineralcorticoid activity and subsequent reduction of blood volume resulting in impaired cerebral blood flow.

  • The pharmacologic and psychotherapeutic treatments of eating disorders, mood and anxiety disorders
  • The psychoneuroendocrinological aspects of mood, anxiety, appetite, cognition and motivation
  • The pharmacology of neuroendocrine disorders with special interest in Eating Disorders, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Adult Growth Hormone Deficiency and female physiology
  • The interaction of newer adrenergic and glutaminergic agents in multiple syndromes which have aspects of cognitive and behavioral impairment
  • The role of psychiatric disorders in medical illness
  • The occurrence of growth hormone deficiency in psychosomatic syndromes in adults
